Date and time
The Royal Australian Air Force is once again hosting the biennial Air Power Conference on 24 and 25 March 2020 at the National Convention Centre in Canberra. Registration to attend is now open to all Air Force, Army, Navy and APS personnel.
(Note: attendance is at unit cost and subject to release to attend by the chain of command)
The 2020 Air Power Conference theme is “Air Power and Indo-Pacific Security”. The Conference provides an opportunity for the military and national security communities to come together to explore the implications for air and space power, and air and defence forces, evolving from the rapidly changing strategic context in the Indo-Pacific.
Led by top international and Australian experts, the Conference will discuss the strategic context in the Indo-Pacific and the factors that are both driving and accelerating change. The Conference will then explore what this means for how air and space power can contribute to Indo-Pacific security.
Speakers have been selected to provide a wide ranging examination of the geo-strategic and international relations environment in the region closest to Australia, and the region that represents the greatest focus for the Australian Government. Themes for the 2020 Air Power Conference viewed through the lens of air power, and military and national strategy, includes:
- Great power and regional dynamics of the Indo-Pacific
- Geo-political Interests and security policy
- Maritime Security
- Air and Space cooperative opportunities among the Pacific Community
- Technology, Space and Uninhabited Aerial Systems
- Industry Engagement
Pre reading and other great research is always available at the Air Power Development Centre.
