Australians need to reduce or prevent cyber-attacks, as the rate and sophistication of such attacks pose a significant risk to individuals and organisations.Summary
Australia and its citizens are under constant cyber-attack, with one cybercrime every 10 minutes; costing Australia around $29 Billion per annum. According to the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) which is a subsidiary of the Australian Signals Directorate. The ACSC has come up with 60 key recommendations as part of Australia's Cyber Security Strategy 2020. They cover threats to :

Critical networks.

Small businesses.

Individuals.
Threats include:

Ransomware (locking up people's systems for ransom)

Fraud.

Identity-related crime.

Misuse of personal information.

Foreign governments cyber-attacks blurring the lines "between peace and war".

Foreign interference in elections, government, business.
What we can do:

Not respond to unsolicited emails and text messages.

Use multi-factor authentication.

Not allow remote computer access.

Update devices and software.

Utilise COVID-19 cybersecurity advice.
