This article by Dee Irwin, writing for Defence News (Australia), makes the following points:
- More than 750 Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel took part in the parade on 2 April.
- Richmond Valley Mayor Robert Mustow said the parade allowed residents to thank the ADF for the 'enormous role' in helping the community get back on its feet.
- Australian Army soldiers and Royal Australian Navy sailors marched down Casino's streets to the beat of Australian Army Band musicians and the applause of the 1000-plus crowd.
- The parade was accompanied by a convoy of Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles.
