This article discusses the outcome of a survey by the author that shows most people surveyed believe workplace ethics will be even more critical in the future.

Summary

Bruce Weinsteins poll asked the question: ‘In the workplace of the future, ethics will be....’ and invited participants to select one of four ways to complete the sentence:

  • More important than now
  • Just as important
  • Less important
  • It depends.

Weinstein says that with technology moving so quickly, workforce leaders will increase vigilance to ensure that honest and accountable people are hired and promoted. He believes artificial intelligence (AI) will make it even easier for people to commit crimes and conduct unethical practices and says:

‘Ethics has always been of the utmost importance in the workplace. It is about to become even more so.’
