Banter, jokes and even swearing are commonly experienced within workplaces. They may be part of workplace cultures, but that doesn’t exempt them from crossing the line into unacceptable behaviour. Referencing policies and misconduct cases will help reinforce appropriate behaviours.Learning Outcomes:
- Think carefully about the point where workplace banter stops being harmless and starts becoming unacceptable behaviour
- Identify the types of workplace culture and practices which may be inappropriate and develop strategies to counter unacceptable behaviour
- Recognise the importance of bystander behaviour in shaping ADF culture
