Google has released a new single stroke shortcut / (forward slash) to make it easier to return to the Google search box.

Summary

Google has made it easier to jump back to the search box with a single keystroke after searching through a page of results. You can then add or subtract words to your search criteria. This shortcut works well. There are no multiple keys to remember; just hitting the / (forward slash) key returns you instantly to the search box. Other advantages are:

  • Easy to remember
  • Single keystroke
  • Saves time.
  • Particularly useful when doing multiple searches.
  • Works with Chrome, Edge and Firefox*.

*Note: It doesn’t work in Safari.
