The Defense Advanced Research and Projects Agency wants a low-weight drone that can take off and land vertically.

Summary

  1. Capabilities would include tracking and targeting enemies beyond a ship’s line of sight.
  2. The drones must be capable of carrying large payloads and flying long distances.
  3. Formal flight tests are expected to start in early 2026.
