Too much sitting, especially at work, is now recognised as a health risk. Studies reveal a treadmill desk or walking pad can have long-term benefits, such as fat loss, and lowered cholesterol and blood pressure.Learning outcomes:
- Understand the health risks associated with sedentary work
- Describe the positive attributes of desk treadmills and walking pads
- Identify alternate activities to desk treadmills and walking pads in improving workplace health
- Develop strategies to improve workplace health and safety in sedentary work environments
