This Dec 21 Guardian article argues that the global supply chain crisis will take two years to overcome bottlenecks.

Martin Farrer  makes the following points in this Dec 21 Guardian article:

  • Difficulties in sourcing goods and materials could last another two years.
  • Omicron Covid variant could make supply chain issues worse.
  • The biggest problem seems to be Zhejiang in China, a major manufacturing hub and a major container port.
  • Another problem area is America’s west coast, where ships can take four weeks to unload.
  • Delays at important ports create a ripple effect across the global supply chain.
  • Cyberattacks on the supply chain, such as Colonial Pipeline, have also caused significant problems.
