One of the things human beings fear is uncertainty; and when we don’t know things, we often feel very uncomfortable.

Summary

  1. As humans, most of us want and need answers.
  2. This unsettling feeling is our innate way of signaling that we’re not following our routine.
  3. Uncertainty, however, broadens our focus, and our brain becomes more receptive to new data.
