While China’s conduct in the South China Sea is short of open warfare, it is indisputably warlike.

  1. Chinese vessels recently rammed a Philippine Coastguard ship.
  2. Chinese sailors boarded the Philippine ships and stole various items.
  3. Ramming ships has been part of China’s repertoire for some time.
  4. The act, itself, has been used as a naval war strategy for centuries.
