New York Times journalists Walt Bogdanich and Michael Forsythe—in their new book When McKinsey Comes To Town—note the following about McKinsey's business practices:
  • Worked with companies that did not follow the values McKinsey said it valued.
  • Engaged in conflicts of interest by advising multiple companies within the same sector 
  • Had a conflict of interest by helping companies navigate regulations while at the same time working for regulators.
  • Recommended that Disney should reduce safety inspections which would cut costs and improve Disney's profitability.
