RAAF rolls out first Triton

Summary

• Airborne for up to 30 hours to persistently patrol Australia’s north and north-west, south-west Pacific and Antarctica.
• Will be operated from RAAF Edinburgh.
• Acquired through a partnership between Australia, the US Navy and Northrop Grumman.
• They will replace the remaining Orions.
• Australian industry will provide sustainment, ICT and facilities worth $900m.
