Her article lists what Batchelder says are four simple tips that will provide the highest return on investment (R.O.I.). They are:
- K.I.S.S. (Keep it super smart)
- Be the 'dumbest person in the room'.*
- Choose integrity always.
- Believe in yourself.
Batchelder explains how the tips will help leaders to move forward (you may have noticed that tip #1 is Batchelder's revamping of Keep It Simple Stupid). Tips like #4 (believe in yourself) may seem simple, but that's the point of Batchelder's message—fancy leadership advice doesn't always lead to the greatest R.O.I. She also says it's vitally important not to listen to your critics unless you're sure their advice is well-intentioned and, after reflection, makes sense.
