China accounts for around 30 percent of global manufacturing , some of which is crucial to USA industry inclduing defence.Summary
Sam Olsen writing in the Hill makes the following points:
- The national security supply chain functions to keep a country’s economy and society healthy as well as the military.
- China controls much of the international logistics chain including owning ports (93 at present), container shipping, logistics companies and technology.
- Many ports owned or run by Chinese firms are installing Huawei digital infrastructure, providing oversight of all inbound and outbound goods.
- LOGINK is a Chinese owned closed-loop platform that could provide the ability to identify and interrupt Western supply chains.
