Despite the Russian media describing Russia's invasion of Ukraine as Moscow's coalition versus NATO, little material support has been provided to Russia by its so-called coalition partners.

Julian McBride writing in 19 FortyFive makes the following points:
  • Many of Russia's so-called coalitions have provided moral support but have yet to provide anything else.
  • India, for example, has not condemned Russia but has taken advantage by buying heavily discounted Russian oil.
  • China has provided monetary assistance but no military hardware.
