The issue of gender, peace, and security (GPS)  focuses on the critical role of gender in building sustainable peace and security. GPS emphasizes addressing gender-based violence, which includes protecting human rights and integrating gender perspectives into all peace and security efforts. Yet, despite significant progress in advancing the GPS agenda, challenges persist, including the persistent exclusion of people from the processes and decision-making based on their gender, the underfunding of gender-responsive programming, and the ongoing prevalence of gender-based violence in conflict-affected contexts.
